Giggles Galore!
I seriously can’t stop laughing at this:
What are your feelings on Zach Galifianakis?
How about the Techno Viking?
Is he your new (or old) hero or what?

curl up with Ray.
Thanks to Boing Boing, Ray Bradbury is going to be buried in birthday cards this year. But is there anyone who deserves it more, honestly? I will definitely be sending him one. Send yours too, as soon as you can; his birthday is this Saturday (August 22)! Perhaps a burnt edge paper card, or even a tattooed man would work pretty well. Or just send a jug of Dandelion Wine.Anyway, if you are interested in writing a note that will be delivered to him, just address it to:

I couldn’t stop finding super-wonderful things to share with the world this week!
1. It Might Get Loud technically opens today. In AZ we probably won’t get to see it until late September.
it sounds odd, but the beginning of it, when Jack White is making a down and out guitar with a glass bottle and what not, makes me lose my shit.
2. Zoe Bell. (plus Ed Brubaker? Le Swoon!)

I am obsessed with her awesome accent, her cute as a button face and her amazing upbeat mentality. Oh, by the way, did I mention she’s a certified badass?
3. She is another reason I am more stoked than ever to see Whip It!
Also, derby names are some of the best things ever! Zoe Bell plays Bloody Holly, Kristen Wiig plays Malice in Wonderland, Juliette Lewis plays Iron Maven, and Eve plays Rosa Sparks.
4. Thinking about giveaways.
I’m thinking of doing a couple giveaways on my blog. I have some super cool vintage stuff and ideas for care packages…but i’m not sure if anyone would be interested. Cookies could possibly be involved…
5. We Love Colors
6. Interview of Tom Waits, by Beck!
7. 73 Ways to be a Better Writer

9. Getting Close and Personal with Point and Shoot Digicams has some great tips.
10. List of Band Names Etymologies. The Beau gave me this list a couple weeks ago, and I’m still going through it. Fascinating!
11. I am obsessed with wasting all my time in Square America.

12. Operation Nice and Secret Agent L are my two new mentors, even though they don’t know it! Their commitment to being beacons of nice in a world full of selfishness gives me hope (and inspiration). I have a couple things planned in their honor. If only we lived closer together so we could plan massive Nice Attacks on a city all at once!

13. I had to stop on 13 because that is my favorite number. Ramsey, who makes the fabulous List Zine and takes drawing commissions, updated her LJ recently, stating she has made a certain entrepreneurial goal, and I am beyond excited to find out what it is! She has such a great mind for knowing what she is good at and using it to her advantage. The plus side is, she is able to make the people that see and buy her stuff incredibly happy as well! I know whatever she does will be amazing.
Is there anything you’re incredibly happy/thankful/looking forward to this week?
It’s time for another installment with your cleaning hostess…
Yup, June Clever is back! Today’s cleaning project is: stinky carpets. Even if you get all the stains and dirt off your carpets, they can still have a “funk” about them. that’s why every month I like to use my little deodorizer. once again, the magic of baking soda comes to our rescue.
start by sprinkling the soda on all your carpets. I said SPRINKLE DAMMIT!
That’s much better! You have to make sure there’s enough on there to actually pick up the smells, non? Anyway, I go around the house, sprinkling all the carpets profusely. Now, you can either start vacuuming the first spot you sprinkled, or wait. Depending on my cleaning mood (patient or im-), I will try and wait at least 20 minutes, so the soda can really do its magic.
Then vacuum like the dickens!
It helps keep your carpet clean and stank-free!!
I started patrolling my house today, looking for yellow things. I giggled when I realized yesterday that I was wearing a lot of yellow. My two favorite colors are green and yellow, so it was very uplifting to see just how much I actually incorporate them into my life, without even thinking.
One of 14 vintage yellow shirts I own.
yeah, the polish is a little chipped.
rubber duckie, bubble wand, Goats Head Soup, cigar box, Travel Log, comic book shop bag, poppy candle, rad Carmex, necklace and textured craft paper.
and shoes, of course.
I have also found a lot of red and green rifling through my house. I might have a couple more color posts in store!
What does your favorite color say about you?
