I saw these images on Design*Sponge and I was, pun unintended, blown away. I don’t know why, but seeing these pictures I can totally imagine this process being virtually silent, and beautiful. Happy Birthday, Echo

One of my closest friends has a birthday today. Since he has own online deal going, I’m not going to spoil it by putting up embarrassing pictures of him eating 3 lbs of gummi bears (although if any of his friends have embarrassing pictures they want to give me…)

But I wanted to say Happy Birthday, and here’s some other pretty awesome people who share your special day.

Pierre Hebert Lost and Found Photos

I found out about Pierre Hebert in March and I have no idea why I didn’t post the story then. These photos, knowing that they came from a seven year old, fascinate me. I can’t wait until all the little kids around me grow old enough to handle a camera and we can go on photowalks together.

Week in Review

Well, this week has been full of ups and downs. At work, I have been doing a project not related to my actual job at all and it was supposed to be over last week. Wishful thinking. I feel really crummy and uncreative when I feel like I am chained and only allowed to do this one thing. So hopefully today is the absolute last day and I can get back to my real job. If I can remember what that is.

But here’s the real week wrap up:

-I GOT MY CAMERA! I think the eBay seller knew I was checking the tracking info every hour for a week because he sent it at the very last possible moment. Blerg. But I got it, I cleaned it, I loaded film and I have only taken one picture but I. Am. In. LOVE.

The Beau just might murder me for putting his photo up here. Or make me take it down.

-I totally forgot that it was Space Week! Luckily I wrote about it last year, so you can read here.

-I won some coffee straight from New Orleans and it has chicory in it and now I want a garden full of chicory. Plus, it’s such a fun word to say.

Not pictured:

-It dipped way down into the 70s here in the valley, so I got to wear my amazing green pants that I will probably be wearing a little too much this fall! I’m not calling it fall yet, because it’s supposed to get back into the upper 90s next week, but fingers crossed that’s a fluke. Hello pants + tights!

-I found a recipe for apple cinnamon roll cupcakes that might stop my heart, and I am slowly putting together a rad Halloween costume, hehe.

Week in Review

I didn’t write a week in review last week, because there wasn’t a whole lot to list. So maybe combining two weeks will be pure magic!

Row 1: Last week – took some photos of a tea party, ate some cake at said tea party, hung out on the steps of my grandma’s kickass house with this boot and watched the sun set.

Row 2: Tried to stay out of the heat by doing this. Yes, that is my Netflix recently watched list. That is all Futurama. To be fair, I was cleaning the house while watching them. I drank some very good beer… no really though, that beer was heavenly. Like ambrosia. I went to a baby’s first birthday. Ah, to be young and have a special cake all to yourself…

Row 3: Went disc golfing and didn’t bring my camera. The boys were starting to make fun of me for using my camera as a place marker. This was the only pic I took, and only because those roots looked like a hand! Made some mason jar 4th of July cakes with my sister (mine’s a little empty because I forgot to tell The Beau I was going to take pictures before he dug in!) and I got in the zone and wrote some letters. I love when I get into my Zone!

My sister and I used to do the Bernie dance (from WaB2) when we were little to make each other laugh. Apparently that very dance became wildly popular earlier this year.

Day 16 – A Film You Used to Love, Now Hate

Hate is such a strong word. We already went through the films that I didn’t like, and even then I said I was disappointed, not really hating them. But if I had to pick some that I’m not that fond of anymore, I’d have to say:

Memento or Billy Madison

The more I think about Memento, the more I am not really enthused about it. I love Chris Nolan, I love Guy Pearce, but I think I would rather read this story than have someone imagine it for me.

Oh, Billy. I actually love Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Mr. Deeds and all the ones in between, especially Punch Drunk Love.. The reason I put it on the list is to lament at what Adam Sandler has become. After 2002, he became a sort of cariacture of himself. Like he made a clone of himself so he could chill at home, but as we all know a clone is a slightly skewed version of the original. NOT QUITE AS GOOD.

Whoa. Sorry about that. Anyway, let’s calm down with this clip:
