I just recently learned about the Longboard Girls, a group of young ladies who skate down mountain roads, hills, beaches and the like on their longboards. Fed up with the intimidation, prejudice and overall negativity of a male-dominated sport, these girls teamed together to bring a support-rich, helpful community to ladies around the world! Not only are these girls fearless, but they are smart, sweet, and look like tons of fun!
30 Day Film Challenge is a challenge that lasts thirty days. It gives me a chance to wax poetic about my favorite medium, and put up silly pictures/videos.
But now? Jeez I have no idea. Can I make my own sort of mish-mash of movies? Dash of Factotum, a sprinkle of Me and You and Everyone We Know, a dusting of Royal Tenenbaums and quite a bit of Stranger Than Fiction.

I cannot believe I am putting this up on the Internet for all to read. My street cred as a film-phile could very possibly be shaken by the fact that I own this movie, I love this movie, and I love Jenny McCarthy in this movie. I can’t quite pin down why (the scene above is kind of annoying, yet still makes me laugh because she just can’t help herself, can she?) because she is kind of askew. But I really enjoy the over the top way this movie portrays breakup mourning.
Maybe it’s because I am a sucker for Eddie Kaye Thomas’ dorky and romantic character, maybe it’s because it’s funny or comforting to see a ridiculously attractive woman become a relatable mess when she is cast aside.
I don’t really want to look into it, I just want to laugh when Carmen Electra pulls a gun on McCarthy to make her take a shower.
tell the truth if you don’t like an outfit your mom picks out for you. It won’t hurt her feelings, it helps her hone in on what you do like.
Sometimes:
indulge your sweet tooth and your guilty pleasure tunes. (I still eat a LOT of Thin Mints and blare my Melissa Etheridge as loud as my mom when no one is home!)
it’s not about you.
eat dessert first.
Never:

get overly-complicated or speak ill of people that serve you food. Until you have finished your meal.
Let’s take a stroll through this week in Jessica-ville. This week I:
Made some super tasty cereal bars,
relished in a to-die for strawberry chocolate-pretzel split made by The Beau (in a waffle cone!),
hung out on tv with one of my closest friends and her extremely adorable and well-behaved daughter,
Got all my books from the library!!! For some odd reason it was all crime and mystery for this library go ’round. I think our noir double feature in L.A. had a big effect on me.
Started putting together my “summer essentials:” bubbles and water guns. Not a bad start, but I need to add my hammock and some blanket forts.
kind of getting the itch for some super-cute short bangs. I even got heart palpitations making this collage!
