Just a few things my mother has taught me:
Always:
- be laughing.
- tell the truth if you don’t like an outfit your mom picks out for you. It won’t hurt her feelings, it helps her hone in on what you do like.
Sometimes:
- indulge your sweet tooth and your guilty pleasure tunes. (I still eat a LOT of Thin Mints and blare my Melissa Etheridge as loud as my mom when no one is home!)
- it’s not about you.
- eat dessert first.
Never:
- wallow for more than a day. Dust yourself off and drag your body back into a positive mindset.
- get overly-complicated or speak ill of people that serve you food. Until you have finished your meal.
and…Always, always, always: Moisturize your neck!
