30 Day Film Challenge is a challenge that lasts thirty days. It gives me a chance to wax poetic about my favorite medium, and put up silly pictures/videos.
Day 1 – Your Favorite Film
Day 2 – Your Least Favorite Film
Day 3 – A Film You Watch to Feel Good
Day 4 (today) – A Film You Watch to Feel Down
Jeez, these questions keep getting tougher. I try not to watch movies that make me feel down, but one I know for a stone-cold fact would be Dogville. Lars von Trier has cornered the market on sad, troubled ladies and communities. This one puts Nicole Kidman in the center (or outskirts, really) of a city – a city that takes place on a stage, but still has all the sounds and houses of a real city – that is looking for a scapegoat. Every scene is terribly depressing, and even the end when the action happens, it still leaves you hollow.
I could also put Dancer in the Dark on this list (another von Trier – told ya so!), but it makes me so bummed I don’t even want to think about it.
Let’s shake off this subdued mood, eh? How about some Jurassic Park action:
Franco Spagnolo is an amazing artist who usually does other types of art, but I found this one post he did (probably via neesyweesy) of movie posters. So incredibly awesome. If I had a house that was Shag style, I’d have all of these hanging up.
