I was pretty sick with food poisoning Thursday and Friday, so when I was finally feeling well enough to check up on the world in the afternoon, I was dumbfounded when I discovered what had happened in Connecticut. I cannot conceive what that town is going through, and so close to Christmas, such an integral family time. All I can think about is the unimaginable despair those families are feeling.

I hope you can all take solace in your families, your loved ones, and cherish the things that make you so very thankful that you can maintain your joy and optimism in the world through great turmoil and times of sheer cruelty.
